I got my assignment!!

Hey, everyone!! I JUST found out where I will be living for the next two years!! I am going to be living in Canton San Isidro (country town), close to Izalco (city) in Sonsonate (state) on the southwestern side of the country. It is going to be HOT and since I'll be living in the country, it's iffy on whether I'll have water or electricity. I guess we'll have to see! :) But my job responsibilities look AWESOME! Here is what the community wants:

-Teach english and computer classes to students and teachers
-Organize youth groups
-Teach youth and ADESCO (community orgs) to write project proposals and solicit for funds
-Support and develop cultural and recreational activities with youth
-Promote school retention
-Help community organizations
-Improve service at the CRA (no idea what that is)
-Teach leadership to youth
-Train youth in how to run small businesses

Anyway, I'll be visiting the site next week to look for housing and begin to meet people. So....super exciting, huh?? :) I'll fill you in with more details later....
